Dax!

Dax has had a pleasant stay in Seattle- one of the hubs of Steampunk!  :)

While here, I felt that Dax needed a helmet in case she were to partake of a submersible adventure with her mentor Jules Verne.  (Notice the eyelashes too!)

I also felt she needed a weapon

a compass (detachable)

a breastplate (spider-ific!) and an additional element on her belt

gloves of a sort

and a skull 'n lace garter (just cause!)

She was such a delight to work with!!!

Seeker sent on his way!

Seeker spent quite a bit of time in Seattle- he didn't seem to want to leave this beautiful Emerald City!  :)

While he was here, I decided he really needed some shoes.  Searching for wisdom and the meaning of life may lead him over a thorny path, and I wanted Seeker to be well-equipped for his journey.
I took inspiration from another Traveler, Zatoichi.  Zatoichi was a fictional blind masseuse and samurai traveling across Japan in a series of 1960s films.  His simple and oft-repaired shoes were my inspiration for Seeker.  I figured a world traveler would have well-worn shoes... something simple and made from natural materials that he could easily repair when need be.

I also felt that Seeker would be seeking spiritual guidance and wisdom from the people he meets on his journey.  In that light, I felt that he would benefit from a dream catcher (or two!) to help guide his way.

While in Seattle, Seeker was able to explore some nearby touristy areas as well as areas well off the beaten track.  In fact, Seeker was involved in an exciting and mysterious discovery as part of his wanderings, but I am not at liberty to divulge more right now.. his journal, which he keeps with him, will explain all.  :)

Hee hee, before Zombie Betty left Texas, she found the cutest little cowboy hat...and so there was a little added item to her traveling outfit!

I tried to mail her today, but the automated postal machine was out of order. so will try again tomorrow at a different post office...

Happy trails!

Meet Fluffy, Zombie Betty and Killer Fifi's new BFF! Fluffy was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and lost a little of himself along the way, but is happy to have found his new fiend, er, friend, Betty. And Fluffy and Killer Fifi will be come best frenemies, too, from the looks of things!

Betty is enjoying the incredible heat of Texas, but will be off to her next destination in a week or so.

Having fun,

Zombie Betty safely landed in Texas!

In spite of the brutal heat in Texas, Betty keeps her cool. She is looking pretty good, for a dead girl. Killer Fifi is present, all brains accounted for...and, I hear there is a love interest in sight!

Don't mind me today, I am in the middle of being sick, and am probably delirious. Haha. Anyway,
Betty is here, stay tuned for new pics once I figure out what mark I can make on her! Haha.

Killer Fifi makes an appearance

Working on Zombie Betty has been interesting.
After much thought, Betty decided she wanted a friend. It's tough being a Zombie and no one seems to understand.

Her life as a Rockabilly girl has changed dramatically and being on the road as a singer has made her lonely.

So her buddy, her pal... her poodle Fifi has come along for the tour. After a few days with Betty and her changed band, poor Fifi isn't quite the same dog.

Killer Fifi as the show stopping poodle is now known, a good friend for poor Betty and the rest of her band.

I had a lot of fun creating Killer Fifi for Betty. She is sculpted out of polymer clay over armature, painted then embellished with crocheted funfur yarn for the poodle poofs, peyote stitched beaded collar and spiral rope beaded leash.
I completely forgot to get photos of the journal, but it includes some photos of her new zombie love interest and zombie friends.
