Dax!

Dax has had a pleasant stay in Seattle- one of the hubs of Steampunk!  :)

While here, I felt that Dax needed a helmet in case she were to partake of a submersible adventure with her mentor Jules Verne.  (Notice the eyelashes too!)

I also felt she needed a weapon

a compass (detachable)

a breastplate (spider-ific!) and an additional element on her belt

gloves of a sort

and a skull 'n lace garter (just cause!)

She was such a delight to work with!!!

Seeker sent on his way!

Seeker spent quite a bit of time in Seattle- he didn't seem to want to leave this beautiful Emerald City!  :)

While he was here, I decided he really needed some shoes.  Searching for wisdom and the meaning of life may lead him over a thorny path, and I wanted Seeker to be well-equipped for his journey.
I took inspiration from another Traveler, Zatoichi.  Zatoichi was a fictional blind masseuse and samurai traveling across Japan in a series of 1960s films.  His simple and oft-repaired shoes were my inspiration for Seeker.  I figured a world traveler would have well-worn shoes... something simple and made from natural materials that he could easily repair when need be.

I also felt that Seeker would be seeking spiritual guidance and wisdom from the people he meets on his journey.  In that light, I felt that he would benefit from a dream catcher (or two!) to help guide his way.

While in Seattle, Seeker was able to explore some nearby touristy areas as well as areas well off the beaten track.  In fact, Seeker was involved in an exciting and mysterious discovery as part of his wanderings, but I am not at liberty to divulge more right now.. his journal, which he keeps with him, will explain all.  :)

Meet Fluffy, Zombie Betty and Killer Fifi's new BFF! Fluffy was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and lost a little of himself along the way, but is happy to have found his new fiend, er, friend, Betty. And Fluffy and Killer Fifi will be come best frenemies, too, from the looks of things!

Betty is enjoying the incredible heat of Texas, but will be off to her next destination in a week or so.

Having fun,

Zombie Betty safely landed in Texas!

In spite of the brutal heat in Texas, Betty keeps her cool. She is looking pretty good, for a dead girl. Killer Fifi is present, all brains accounted for...and, I hear there is a love interest in sight!

Don't mind me today, I am in the middle of being sick, and am probably delirious. Haha. Anyway,
Betty is here, stay tuned for new pics once I figure out what mark I can make on her! Haha.

Killer Fifi makes an appearance

Working on Zombie Betty has been interesting.
After much thought, Betty decided she wanted a friend. It's tough being a Zombie and no one seems to understand.

Her life as a Rockabilly girl has changed dramatically and being on the road as a singer has made her lonely.

So her buddy, her pal... her poodle Fifi has come along for the tour. After a few days with Betty and her changed band, poor Fifi isn't quite the same dog.

Killer Fifi as the show stopping poodle is now known, a good friend for poor Betty and the rest of her band.

I had a lot of fun creating Killer Fifi for Betty. She is sculpted out of polymer clay over armature, painted then embellished with crocheted funfur yarn for the poodle poofs, peyote stitched beaded collar and spiral rope beaded leash.
I completely forgot to get photos of the journal, but it includes some photos of her new zombie love interest and zombie friends.

Whimsical Willow has a face!!

Willow has a face and enchanting look! I went with the nature sprite, woman of the woods feel from the journal, and for some reason kept hearing the Beatles "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds"

LOL So she is the Girl with Kaleidescope Eyes! I feel honored to have done her face and hope her creator likes it! She is on her way to England for more fun!!

DAX getting ready to travel!

Well, DAX has been having a good time in Texas, although it is pretty hot here to be wearing a suede jacket and aviatrix hat...but there are some interesting things to see and do in the wilds of Leander! It was fun learning something about Steampunk, too. DAX will be on her way on Tuesday.

Safe journeys to Seattle, DAX!

Ahzure getting ready to leave Seattle!

Hello everyone,

Apologies for being so quiet-  am currently still undergoing a lot of medical issues. Other than pimping some of my previously created art for a local exhibit and working on these dolls, I haven't done anything creative in ages, probably because my muse has waltzed off for awhile.

In any case, Ahzure is about ready to leave Seattle.

I embelllished her eyes a bit including textured eyelashes.  I also added jewelry and a second outfit (before I re-read the rules that said not to make multiple clothes- I'm sorry- I was so inspired by what Christine had already done that I just went with it).  I added some strategically placed coins, a veil, a skirt, a headband, some bracelets and anklets and necklace (all of which are removeable so you can mix and match). The gorgeous top she's wearing was made by Christine.  I can put Christine's outfit back on her so as not to violate any more rules- sheesh I am such a dork sometimes!

Ahzure was a very affable guest- was trying to teach me to dance but alas, I'm just not as coordinated.  :)

Where in the world is Baubo?

Haven't seen any pictures of her since she arrived in Seattle! I hope she didn't wander off somewhere...she is a bit inclined to mischief!

Dax getting ready for Texas

Dax has been going through some changes, she is getting ready to work on inventing her own machines and gadgets. Being an active and inventive gal, skirts and petticoats wouldn't do... pants and boots and a starlet hairstyle!

She loves her hair, but complained it got in her face when she was trying to invent, so she got a wire-beaded hair piece to keep it out of her face. Are those crystals the recognition activators for her time machine? She won't tell, a gal's got to have her secrets!

Next up she went out shopping. A pair of doe-skin pants, stylish and sleek, with a petticoat bustle and a set of custom made boots beaded tassels a clackin' with each beat of the diva's feet.

The end result you see, a gal who is on the move and ready for adventure!

Her journal pages appear to have plans afoot... machines and inventions galore!

Steampunk is a fun genre to work with. I loved working on Dax while she was here with me. Additions are hair with crystal wire wrapped accessory, matching beaded/crystal necklace, doe-skin pants, and sculpted boots with beaded tassels.
I had a ton of ideas and could have just kept adding, I think I may have to work up a few forms and play with the steampunk theme some more :)

Betty on her way today.

Sweet little Zombie Betty is just finished packing and saying her goodbyes to her English friends. They are all delighted that she was very restrained and didn't attempt to eat any of them.. i think the cherry brains she brought with her sustained her very well! She has a noose around her neck now too but i didnt get a pic of that.

Okay, so the time has come and i shall drop her off in the care of the post office shortly. I expect she should arrive in Oklahoma in around 3 weeks!

Have a great time with her Stacie..

Comment on Willow

It looks like the only way through is to write a whole new entry.. so here goes..
I love Willow and am greatly looking forward to meeting her, especially with her new face; i expect we will hardly keep her quiet once she has eyes and mouth!
I'm already feeling things i think Willow may like, so am hoping my ideas fit in with hers and with whatever treasures Therese gives her.. Oh, i must also say that little purse is just beautiful, what an original little thing.

Blog not playing the game!!

I keep trying to post comments on the blog entries, but all the program does is divert me to sign in again, and again, and again and wont publish my comment. Maybe other people are having the same problem as there arent many comments getting through.. so i'm writing a post this way, to see if it gets through..

Zombie Betty in England!

Zombie Betty arrived here in England on 20th May after a long journey across the Atlantic. It is greatly exciting for me as i've never worked on a zombie before, but before she got here i'd read a little about zombie culture so i'd be prepared as best i could. Therese had given Betty a wonderful hairdo with a bandana and 4 big cherry brains for her to keep or eat!! Yuk!
So, what to do.. well Betty seemed to like my ideas as she said she was definitely feeling too green overall.. I gave her a pink polka-dot top with a ribbon belt. I 'tore open' her chest and exposed her rib cage and heart and of course the customary blood and gore.
I also made a few small painted additions to her face, her eyes & a scarred mouth. There are still a couple more things to give her, but i need to get supplies, so i'll show when theyre done.
And her journal pages document my very first connection with a zombie.. hoping her 'mom' approves my changes for Betty! Lol

She has become a Goth warrior princess; fearless in her endeavor to fight for the *good* even when her *bad girl * comes out to play... She also found her prince and his name is Edward... but I will not post a picture of him ..Mastema wants to keep her owner in suspense!

Zombie Betty's new look!

Zombie Betty had a wonderful spa visit in Ohio! To help bring back her rockabilly style, we gave her a hair cut with bangs and new bandana! She also received a base with a few snacks for the road. Cherry brains of course, lol!

Dax is in Oklahoma

Dax and her lovely journal arrived in Oklahoma today!
We shall have to sit down this weekend to see what steampunk fun I can dream up for Dax.

Here are the pages documenting Daxina the Steampunk Diva on her visit to England. I'll miss her, but you all want to play with her and this fantastic journal!

Dax at wedding teaparty

Here is Dax with her English friends.. in England during the Royal Wedding! They all loved Catherine's dress, but arent sure they fancy the Prince quite so much.. Good excuse for a Teaparty tho..

All documented in her journal, Dax will be travelling tomorrow, when England goes back to work and the post office opens.

Having fun in Texas

Well, Seeker and Ahzure are here together, having a nice chat. They and another unnamed friend got together for this photo...they all say hello (or perhaps "Hello y'all" from sunny and hot Texas...
Ahzure will soon be on her way to the next stop on her journey, but was glad to be able to meet Seeker.

Having so much fun...
